Life Ball Vienna is considered to be one of the biggest charity events in Europe, dedicated to supporting people with AIDS or HIV. Life Ball Vienna is organized by AIDS LIFE, a non-profit organization that came to life in 1992, its founders being Gery Keszler and Torgom Petrosian. This events that takes place in Vienna, is known not only because of its grandeur, but also for the awareness of fighting AIDS. For everyone to understand the intensity of the moment, moments of silence and speeches carried out by international celebrities, to underline the importance of the fight against AIDS. Participants in this great event are various, from movie stars, singers and even politicians and fashion designers. They are all dedicated in using their popularity to serve a common cause. The opening presents different music styles, from operetta to pop music, national and international.Life Ball Vienna is now known way beyond the Austrian borders, being covered by over 60 TV stations.
Life Ball Vienna
The Life Ball Vienna is a theme event, each year a different theme being presented. Thus, the tickets are sold in categories. Only a total of 3780 tickets are available for purchase, in which a fixed number of tickets are sold half price, these tickets being called Style Tickets. Those who purchase them are obligated to be in sync with the current theme, regarding their costumes. Also, a small number of tickets will be issued through a raffle, in which more the 60.000 participants enlist in just two days that allow participation. International participants are also allowed to purchase tickets, along with accomodation packages, varying from 4 to 5 figure euro amounts. Looking back, and comparing it to the first event, which started from the gay community, todays Life Ball Event is atracting both heterosexual guests and gay people, and it was never intended to be just for gays. Also, to ensure that the gay community will not be excluded from this event, they have a certain quota of tickets allocated.

Life Ball Viena – 1001 Nights
This year’s edition of Life Ball Vienna is dedicated to the “1001 nights”. This adventurous tale will help the participants get inspired to help people that are infected with HIV. Life Ball Vienna is divided into two major events, such as the Fashion Show, on the Magenta Carpet, and the Red Ribbon Catwalk, in the City Hall Square, and also the Ball itself, being held inside the City Hall. The opening will last about two hours, in which the 3780 of ticket holders are presented with splendid rooms and gardens open to the public just for this event. Among this year’s spokepersons will be Dr. Heinz Fischer, the Federal President of Austria, former president of the United States, Bill Clinton and several actresses, such as Hilary Svank and Melanie Griffith, and other celebrities like Sir Elton John and Fergi (Stacy Ann Ferguson). Tickets vary from 750 EUR to 3000 EUR, depending of the level of acces to Life Ball Vienna.
